About The Band

Kathy Jaeck - Bass & Vocals

On stage, Kathy brings a steady, driving bass line with the occasional melodic break when the moment feels right—but her favorite role is singing harmony.

Whether locking in the groove or lifting the vocals, she adds heart, soul, and rock-solid rhythm to every performance.

Proof that retirement is just a great excuse to buy a really big instrument.

Thomas Zach- Mandolin, Fiddle & Vocals

Thomas Zach plays mandolin and fiddle blending modern bluegrass style with a strong foundation in jazz, classical, and traditional bluegrass.

With 7 years of performance experience across Florida’s Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg scene, he brings driving rhythm, expressive solos, tight harmonies, and confident showmanship to every performance.

Mixing modern bluegrass energy with a serious love of tasty solos.

Jake Sowell - Banjo & Dobro

Jake Sowell has been blowing out audiences’ eardrums for over twenty years with his signature Gibson Scruggs Mastertone banjo, lovingly known as Banj-shee.

A two-time Florida State Banjo Champion, Jake brings lightning-fast speed, razor-sharp precision, and unapologetic volume to Trouble Creek Music, blending old-mountain grit with jaw-dropping technical skill.

Fast fingers, mountain tunings, and volume set to ‘legend.’

Austin Wood - Guitar & Vocals

Austin Wood is a Florida-born guitarist and vocalist who has been playing since age nine. Self-taught with twelve years of experience, he blends rock, blues, metal, and modern bluegrass influences into a bold, experimental style.

Inspired by artists ranging from Deftones and Pantera to Billy Strings, Austin brings variety, edge, and creative fire to Trouble Creek Music.

Tradition in one hand, distortion in the other.
